Computer Tutor is an independently owned computer repair business located in Freeport, Illinois. My name is Ed Alderman and I am the owner/operator. I started the business officially in March of 2006 but my experience goes back as far as 1995. Close to 90% of my services are performed on location - that is, in your home or place of business. When the job requires more time or tools than can be performed on location I offer pickup and delivery in the Freeport area.

Am I certified? Yes. Certifications are very important in this field because they prove that you really do know, and can perform, what your selling. I have two certifications that I've obtained through Highland College and Entre Computer Solutions in Rockford, IL. They are as follows:

CompTIA A+ Hardware Certification
This certification validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.

ComptTIA Network+ Certification
This certification validates the knowledge and skills of networking professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that recognizes a technician's ability to describe the features and functions of networking components and to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services.
